price of the JR pass is fixed at 29110yen for the 7-day pass


difference will be the exchange rate used by the different company on that day. so u will need to call and check the price to see which is cheaper.
if u have exchange yen at a good rate, u can purchase from H.I.S at Amara which accepts payment in yen

That's a good idea. Maybe I can try purchasing at H.I.S with Japanese yen.

Would H.I.S give discount for NATAS fair? I am planning to pay in cash yen.

Follow Me Japan used to do it for cash payments but they say they not doing it this year.

You can just drop by the Agency. Will get the exchange order on the spot.

As for the validity of jr pass...How they calculate?

Let's say i activate on apr 1st morning 0900, will it ends on 7th april 0000hrs (24 hr clock) or 7th april 2359?

7 days... so u can still use it for the whole day on 7th apr

Latest price i gotten from the Jap travel agency at Ion was 338 SGD based on their exchange rate.

The cheapest I checked was during the NATAS 2015. Diners World Travel offers 5% discount on their JR pass 7 days. $326. Best of luck.

Besides JTB, which other agencies allow on the spot issuance of the exchange order uh? Can the one at ion issue on the spot?
