Cheapest roaming SIM card

Has anyone tried the Klook built in esim for China? Any idea if can stuff Facebook WhatsApp etc without vpn?

Why not utilise your incumbent SG telco's roaming, unless its from ST/M1/SH which is costly.

Coz mine is gomo, doesn’t have china and will be expensive too based on the rates for other country

GOMO isn't a good choice with roaming, perhaps can consider moving to others that provides more roaming support/options.
Though GOMO now provides roaming benefits too.

You can buy roaming data from Gomo for China( i bought last year) and you can used whatsapp , facebook but there are cheaper alternative eg esim from online platform ,
easy to set up just scan QR code .

Gomo is a bit cumbersome need to manually type in the address of the API etc

Yes all foreign website can , I am using it now
bought on Shopee .
Local internet(China) cant get in EDMW .

By the way Singapore pool cannot be access even on esim , alert notice is only for Singapore market .

ESim is from China Mobile HK and CAN access all the site including Spool except can't sign into the account as it states only for Singapore market .
Anyway I only used the Esim for 15 days the rest I am using Free VPN( not going to pay for such service as I don't really need it ) thru domestic internet line , works well so far .

Tested and working fine to login to SPool account, regardless telcos. All you need is VPN back to SG server. I used a paid VPN service. Not sure about free ones.

Tested for:
1) China Mobile HK
2) China Unicom HK
3) CMLink SG
4) Wifi in hotels and eateries.

Yup, limited to SG only for SGPools app, even updating of apps does not work once out of SG/App Store/Play Store settings are not SG.

A lot depends on their roaming partner China Telecom. It was fine for me.

I recall Simba via CT quite jam (as in slow) during my trip to China previously. Depending on the time of the day. Probably have some capped bandwidth

Possible. The roaming agreement between the 2 telcos may allow for this. The local telco may prioritise or de-prioritise roaming traffic.

I notice it too during my trip to BKK... 1st few days were fine then it went sloooowwwwww. Currently in Taipei, working fine in term of speed.

PS FYi I actually finished up my 20G in 15 days( using it for YouTube).

My China Friend arranged a pocket Wifi for me that I paired with a VPN.

I must say extreme useful and good, fast speed and also can attached as many devices as you like , no noticeable drop in speed.
