cheapest upgrade path

Hi,

Currently on Core2Duo and 4gb ram.

Graphics is MSI Frozr GTX650 but not important as im not gaming.

My OS is on 256GB SSD.

Just upgraded to windows 10 and system lag and frezze can be felt even when I open only mozilla, albeit with 20-30 tabs

I dont do any hardcore processing stuff, at most minimal photo editing and MS office work, and lots of video viewing.

Currently thinking of upgrading but feels it not worth it to buy i5 +Board+16gb ram for >$500 just for better surfing experience.

Any advice on the cheapest upgrade path I can take?

Core 2 duo is really slow on windows 10, but it works fine on windows ,7 or 8. U can consider downgrading. Or dual boot a lighter operating system like http://www.neverware.com/

I don't recommend buying ddr2 ram anymore. So no need to buy anything

4gb RAM and open 20 - 30 tabs.. of cos will lag, not enough memory to go ard..

Get more RAM ? Check whether ur mobo support DDR2 or DDR3 RAM..

Cheapest Option is you go buy 2nd hand.
$150 maybe can i3-2100 + mobo + 4gb ram.
