yes, they are able to do both, the hand held scanner type and the blood test type. just book a appointment for the baby saying its to monitor jaundice level. if jaundice level is high, better don't wait until 1 month later.

you know the polyclinics have a hotline? why don't you just call them and ask directly. they will answer any queries and help u make the appointment at the same time.

if baby not yellow, then it will be check during the 1mth checkup
if baby yellow visually, go Simba (refer in Lion King) him/her outside in the sun

sometimes visual can’t tell. Usually before leave hospital they will tell u the latest reading already.

now a days sun uv level very high no more recommended to go directly under sun. Just expose indoors by the windows will do. Else later become chao tar baby.

The only way for infant to expel their bilirubin is thru stool and urine, so 1 of the better ways to reduce bilirubin is to feed consistently for the 1st week so they will poop and pee. Yes it means feeding every 3 hourly.
