Planning a visit to Chengdu and Jiuzhaigou in November. I checked numerous airline websites to compare prices and found that the cheapest ticket to Chengdu is $500 plus on Air Asia. Air china direct costs $640. Why are tickets to Chengdu so expensive?


Is it possible to book 4d3n or 3d2n packages to jiuzhaigou in Chengdu? Any reputable tour companies to recommend?

Perhaps you can make your connections in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, then continue on a domestic flight to Chengdu.

hello figo, that's expensive. i am going these two places next month and i think i paid close to $400 for flight to chengdu.
you can consider going huanglong national park too since it is nearby and can be done in a day.

I went there a few years back in November. It was too cold and everything was freezing. Suggest advance your trip to October.

In late oct autumn peak season in 2013
think I paid still under 2k with single supplement for a comprehensive tour package of region also covering Kanting etc with Jun-Air at Peoples Park Centre (found them ok altho hv also heard horror stories about them)

Their China local agent advised safety n we never got to do Huang Long too
went some old town instead which was rather pleasant

We got a surprise upgrade to JZG Sheraton too

Scarey bits are their countryside toilets aaargh .....

I been 九寨沟 two times, it is very tourist friendly. Only issue is the journey by bus is long

Planning to go JiuZhaigao x 2 days in this 溝 on Nov 5/6-12.
We will arrive the day before with bus trip from Chengdu on Nov 7 .
Then Jiuzhaigao-神仙池 ( day trip ) & Chengdu bus the next day. Some say it is much better than HuangLong which we will skip.
It is the last week of the peak season.

Any friendly advice ?
