Hi all,

I received a SCB cheque from AIA for some insurance payout but at the back there is no fields to write the account no.

So can I just write the account no. and deposit into the quick cheque deposit box?

Yes. Anything at the back of the cheque is optional and the boxes are printed for convenience only. Normally I write account # and contact number, boxes or not.

write the bank account number, and do write your mobile number and your full name (should be the same as the name on the cheque... if not, uhm..)

the mobile number is in case there is some error. not often, but it happens more than it should.

do remember to deposit at the correct bank! you won't believe the amount cheque meant for xxx bank deposited at yyy bank :s13:

It doesn't matter which bank is the cheque issuer.
You should drop it to your bank and write your bank account no behind.

Ie: if the cheque issued by SCB, but your bank is dbs, then write your dbs account no and your name and contact no behind, and drop it to DBS/POSB cheque deposit box..
Do not drop it to SCB box.
