Hi peeps,

CM is on my bucket list for a long time, but always put off by the high air fares.

Why the direct flights only Silkair have...$300+ one way?

Budget airlines all need to stopover at Bangkok first, minimally doubling the travel time.

Scoot a320 does fly to chiang mai direct flight ...
However, lowest price normally is about 200+

Unfortunately, my dates are fixed and Scoot don't fly every day. Hahaha....

Just buy silkair if u think wasting time in transit and their timing is good. By the way unless u purchase fly thru if not u have to clear immigration collect baggage and check in again.

fly to bkk 1 day early, then take train to CM. Save alot of money and get to experience wonderful train ride. Don't even need to book hotel for that night because u will be on the train overnight.

have to weigh if the time spent transit vs the cost of silkair
is worth choosing a transit flight to save the cost ?
