how's chiang mai flower festival which happening around 3 - 5 Feb 2017?

use Skyscanner, just nice see the price. then book directly from Thai Airways itself.

i never go the festival as im not very into flowers

I booked Thai Lion Air (transit in DM airport) for my trip in March. Return flight with 30kg check in baggage allowance both ways and added 2 meals on board.
Total $210
Normally it's around $300 but I managed to book during a promotion

why don't u fly by tiger during off peak season rather than going
through the hassle of check in and out of our luggage at custom.
i will only take this way if the tickets for tiger have no promo for festive season.i will take scoot n nokair. no lye on for me even if zero cash,domestic flights still ok.

There's no need to check in/check out luggage. They go direct to CM.
Currently the fare for Tigerair for my flight dates will cost $376 excluding any luggage allowance or meals, although March is not considered high season.

But you still need to go to domestic to check in and q for the security checks..

No need, go to international departure as normal. The check in crew will just remind you that you cannot exit the transit area when at DM.

I'm planning to retire there in future. Good to experience whether it's as bad as the haze in SG

I read that the army and CM jurisdiction are clamping down on illegal burning, so hopefully it's not as bad as before and more improvements in future

The old city is quite small. It's probably better to explore it by foot, bicycle, scooter (if you have motorbike licence), or just grab a songthaew for a few baht. I would use a day tour only if I'm very very short of time.

offically operating in cm, fast and cheaper than red trucks, don't

need to bargain until face green green with the drivers n know not thai.

one thing to note when u call uber or grab, try to avoid the area where songthaew or tu tu parking there..

sometimes the haze may be from neighbouring countries and last
may the temp shot to 40c that was unbearable.

Songthaews are only 10 baht per person. Unless you book the entire songthaew for yourself, in which case, I agree it's better to just use uber. But if you are on budget, you can't beat the 10 baht songthaew for the price.

so far the cheapest songthaews i took is 15 bt and is the green
songthaew that is going other routes instead of the red going around the city areas that costs 20 to 50bt per person if u speak
to them not in thai. My friends told me their uber booking fare
all below 80 to 30baht for 4 person, pay cash and wait less than 3 mins.car got aircon, no dust, no exhaust fume from the songthaew, so which 1 is the idea ride?
