qns: can you book a tour from bangkok to chiang mai?
Have a tour guide from Bangkok bring u to CM, or book CM tours in Bangkok?

You can do either in CM - cheaper as you avoid the middlemen in Bangkok.

Most Thais take a flight to CM or even drive. Easy to do.

I recently went to Chiang mai and had a awesome driver to bring me and my Girlfriend around, he speaks English quite well. He knows all the fun and nice places in Chiang mai. Anyone going there and needs transport to bring you around can look for him,

1500bhat including 200bhat tip, think you can Nego with him. From morning till evening, anywhere within Chiang mai, pick you up from hotel and bring you anywhere you want, unlike some Drivers I came across, he will stay at the location with you instead of giving you a time to meet and then run off somewhere else. Highly recommended.

A Singaporean Businessman name Mr Tan contributed this Big Bell at Doi Suthep for 100,000 THB in year 2000.

Now to contribute a smiliar bell will cause 600,000THB.:D

Hi guys, I need some recommendations to plan a free & easy 6D5N family (5-6pax) trip. First time to Chiangmai.

1. Mainly shopping for the ladies
2. Food!
3. Shop for furniture and houseware for new home. Also appreciate if you can share ur exp, logistical info and lobangs!
4. 1-2 days sightseeing to relax

Some other questions: Is travelling to shopping area easy (like bkk)? Do I need to hire a driver throughout 6d5n considering a 5-6 group. Which are the good months/best time to visit?

He charge me 1500 baht for 8 hours. Ok ah? Yours also 8 hours?

Just came back from CM, it must be the hottest time of the year now. Wind blows hot air and humidity is your day companion. I like to relax at CM gate's river side for a morning nescafe coffee and then go into the wet market for some local food. At night, Chang Phuak gate street food stall is my to go dinner place.

Kind of disappointed with the night market down Thapae Road. There are at least 3 night market along the whole stretch of road, but they sell almost identical things. What disappoint me was the lack of street food stall in the entire road.

CM is almost a Chinatown in the North now. Everywhere you can see signs and ads in Chinese characters, even the Thais can speak Chinese already.
