China Airline or Scoot?

I missed out on getting a good price for SQ flight to Taiwan this Dec. I am now considering between China Airline and Scoot. Which will be a better choice if the prices are similar?

I am travelling with a 6 year old and will need to bring along a stroller.

Do also note the time of the arrival and departure.
6 year old, i think can do without stroller soon.

The timing for both flights are similar. This is why I am not too sure which is a better option.

How much difference and do you need those meals and entertainment.
If not i will just skip it and go for scoot.

Meal and entertainment are not important to me. Comfort is. Scoot may be slightly more ex depending on my departure and arrival date.

Your choice for Scoot is for the cheaper price or for the service?

Cheaper price.
There is no requirement of service on my side.
So it is really up to individual.

China airline is full fledge flight. Means luggage all inclusive. Choose that if you need that.

I have taken scootbiz to bangkok and sydney ...
not really full fledged leh ...

only one meal served on my 8.5hrs sydney trip ...
there is only one toilet lol ...

no personal entertainment such as ipad loan to u to watch show
no blanket for u if u r feeling cold

only 2 staff serving the entire business class sector only lol ...
encountered once to sydney, the gals would knee down and talk to u
then my bkk trip, they never lol ...

you r paying much more flying scootbiz to taipei than flying econ fulll fledged.
like that i rather fly sq taipei 530sgd two way nett if promo.
compared to scootbiz lol ...
anyway if u have not tried scootbiz before, you can try once.
then u will know is not tat fantastic afterall

I realise I can also book myself on a confirmed flight and request to be wait listed on a Saturday flight back. It is not that bad a deal after all. Guess my only concern should be if I get a good rest during the flight. Thanks all who replied.

Cathay have to transit, so it depends on whether you want to pay the extra price for a direct flight and shorter hours.

scoot is dreamliner ..

service not as good as full fledged lol

have took scoot before
they have used a hardcover luggage to put on top of my cloth type luggage
what a thing to do by their cabin crew lol ...

be it business class or econ, dont expect much from scoot
afterall , they r budget airline
these few years scoot have been encountering many delays
compared to other airline, must say that scoot is one of the worst in terms of flight delay lol ... have seen ppl posting on their facebook, complaining their flight was delayed ...
