China reverse engineer all their clients product. From companies who entrusted them with OEM.

Then 加厚,加durability, 加functions, sell cheap and undercut.

I always tok to air con tech friends, I also know how to service myself
If you look at air con. All the new Daikin, mitsubishi ekectric, heavy industry, LG all got expensive motherboard problem.

Midea and haier at least repairs should be cheaper. My midea used in the office, on 24/7 for 5 years already, previously used normally for another few years. If 8 hours is considered one working day, it was equivalently used for at least 18 years.
And I only service once a year, dirty and dusty like fug. The technician always kpkb ask how come so dirty. :s13:

Somemore mine is the old kind, the blower can't be easily removed. The new ones can be easily removed, heard even easier than mitsubishi electric. My old midea is also so much quieter than my mitsubishi electric.

Greely is said to be far more superior than midea. I believe they have already exit Singapore. If prism is actually using Greely as OEM, and they have decent support. Then really can consider. Heard that can save 1k

Depends on brand and product.

The more reputable ones have good QC and produve quality stuff.

Those smaller or those mom and pop companies cannot afford QC, so my experience is that their products can be somewhat unreliable.

My tire pressure monitoring system, working perfectly after 5 years.

My armrest, the USB works fine, but wireless charging pad for phone was dead on arrival.

I also burned out 3 Heads Up Display plugging them in and out while power was live. Although it's partially my fault, I suspect cheap capacitors used also played a part. Current I damn careful to unplug from my always-on OBU port before I plug/unplug the HUD.

Another bust is a magnifying LED bathroom mirror that I bought. The LED light spoil after a few months and the frame started rusting after a year.

LED ceiling lights and bulbs so far all quite lasting.

My Lenovo desktop since March 2017 still ok. Redmi note 12 2 years+ still ok. Redmi note 8 6 years still ok. Using as alarm clock.

Home ceiling leds lights since 2016. Around 40 pieces. So far changed less than 8 pieces...it's changing the driver. The led itself still bright.

Many western brands electric cars also using china battery.
yes.. the QC makes a big difference. u buy western cars, u can be sure they will take responsibilities when things happen.. and u look at what the Chinese carmakers has done.. is silence the complaint and block all media from reporting, follow by a big group of lawyers to sue your pants off.

Depends on the brand and quality.... China has good high end stuff as well. When I was still into HiFi, my most expensive and better quality CD player was a china brand and it was highly recommended in the hifi circle
*Edit
Now I remembered my first high end CD player and digital radio receiver was from oppo, oppo started out manufacturing AV devices such as cd, Blu-ray players and DAB ( digital radio broadcast)
OPPO dvd player was highly sought after
moi xiaomi tv ish 7.5 yrs and going stronk.

western car makers take responsibility after their government wack them or they face class lawsuit. they wont give a F for client experience and complaints even though they have been running NPS, their TOP priority is always on EPS (how to cut cost further by using cheaper parts and less labour etc) and share price.
