Now I know why she wasn't sad that her daughter died.

I am surprised this passed the censor since it impinge the image of Cultural Revolution. But XJP also had a tough life during this period too, mebbe that's why it can pass.

Binged through all current 13 eps liao....

I am very amused with the appearance of Kat VR treadmills and Pimax lookalike goggles in the show...

The story is based in the period leading up to 2008 Beijing Olympics.... both Kat VR and Pimax companies are established in 2013 and 2015 respectively.... even the show is trying to destroy physical time???!!!

its up to ep 15 now, almost 1 ep day per wk day.

well its just a drama, so far i think it follows the novel pretty close. its probably the best attempt on chinese scifi drama up till present.

This cultural revolution sci-fi genre is certainly very novel and interesting. AMDK all never read before so definitely it will appeal to geeks all over the world.

And very much in it's favor is that it has not shy away from depicting some of the realities of the cultural revolution, which will give it a plus to western sensibilities.

The latest episode with the Qin dynasty human calculator is very farnee.

Strongly recommended for all bbfas. Especially those who loves spamming on threads like "can xtians be critical thinkers", etc.
