Has anyone bought any Android phone that comes with a Chinese ROM like Honor, OnePlus, or OPPO?
What are the biggest negative aspects compared to the Global version?

Cannot use quick share. Chinese rom also have aggressive ram management so alot of notification will come late or never come at all even if you allow the app to run in background etc

I think shopee vouchers plus the digit sales should be way cheaper.

No issues with quick share between global and china androids though for me. But agree notifications are delayed, and sometimes dont appear at all.

Then no gemini, many unnecessary apps preinstalled

The network frequency bands are for China's mobile networks. Maybe cannot be used for Simba's network..

I use xiaomi, oppo, redmi and ZTE China and global rom.. Before.. For now andriod 15 and above not much difference except China rom no default Google apps.. Inside still got Google services u need go setting to activate. Download the Google playstore and good to go. Some Google app like Google auto, Google AI, Google wallet, Google rewards (exact location) etc might not work. So far I tried ZTE China rom no issue with auto and wallet but rewards and AI not working. Some China brand u need to have China phone number to open account to download official themes personalized etc. Some brands dun need.

As for nortification delay.. The latest andriod version no such issue already. Some brand China rom still very aggressive but enable the app always in memory to prevent the issue.

China rom got its advantage.. Phones are much cheaper. China rom upgrade rom faster.. China rom got more features.. Like better AI, more themes etc then global rom.

My advice is the price different more then $150 it's worth it.. Even without warranty.. Cause phone dun DOA and they last quite long except Samsung crap.

I just unlock bootloader and flash custom ROM. That's what I did to my China-ROM Redmi Note 12 Turbo (that is sold as Poco F5 in the rest of the world)

Thankfully it came with MIUI and not yet HyperOS back then, or the unlocking would've been a huge pain.

Wow. I never thought of this. I thought all phones are imported and still have price difference between Malaysia and JB? Buy from JB is international ROM with full legitimate google support correct? Can share roughly the price difference for same model between JB and Singapore?

Recently bought an entry level Xiao mi device (Redmi), Singapore official retail price is SGD$199 (year end discount applied) and Lazada cheapest was SGD$178

bought the same model in Malaysia JB at retail store, converted to SGD is SGD$158 … cheaper than Lazada and yet have one year official Malaysia Xiao mi warranty, can bring back to Xiao mi service centre in paradigm mall in JB

Ok. My next phone will be from Malaysia... Unfortunately, I use a Huawei now, may have to wait very very long. My old mate 20 is still working but only has 128G only.
