Remix OS should work fine on the Atom. I have the remix mini which runs on a slower Allwinner chip, showing no signs of lagging. Quite a unique spin of Android. Haven't tried using it for any word processing though.

But remix on lapbook nowhere to be found online. Guess will wait out till some success. Just can't be too certain, bricking with Chinaware.

I see brands like Cube, Telecast, Chuwi, their tablets specs and pricing are about the same. If given a choice, which brand is better? I am sourcing one to replace my Mipad1...

Sent from Xiaomi REDMI NOTE 4 using GAGT

I've been using a Chuwi hi10 pro with keyboard for the past few days and found little to complain. Build quality is impressive for a cheap China tablet. Keyboard feel is solid and really nice for typing occasionally. I've also owned the Chuwi hi8 and the Chuwi vi8. So far, no complains about its quality. Of course, you should not expect scratch resistant screens from them.

I noticed you are sourcing tablets to replace the mipad. Note that all these dual boot tablets run only Android 5.1 and are unlikely to be upgradeable. If you run mainly Android, just stick to the mipad which offers a better experience. However, if you are running Windows mainly, these new generation tablets are really good value. Just make sure you use the Edge browser where possible as it's less processor intensive than Chrome.

Because my Mipad currently is on Android 4.4 also, and I have gut feeling Xiaomi seems to be ditching the tablet market. My main use is likely watch dramas/movies, some simple games, read ebooks/manga, surf some internet, read/reply some work emails. Would the Chuwi hi8 be sufficient? I am thinking the 10inch hi10 may be a little overkill big for mobility which I scare I may get sian after awhile...

Thanks

How do you guys managed to buy tablets from Taobao? I'm looking to buy a Cube IWork1x for school stuff but all the sellers so far don't ship to singapore. I don't trust Ezbuy either considering it's soon CNY and they are known to screw up during those festive seasons, same goes for Gear best and banggood since I don't have paypal.

Use prouter air shipment around $15. Receive within 1 week direct to home.

I usually get mine from gearbest or banggood. Prices are comparable to taobao and the listed price includes shipping, so no hidden costs.

Hi

playing video and normal web with minimal lagging

i use this tablet 6month already. battery life around 3.5h of use, or 4-5h if use power saving. if you shutdown, there is no battery drain.

It can play certain hevc videos without lag. one thing i dont like is I cannot charge while using usb port. if not can use as desktop replacement
