Any cheap tablets to recommend for watching videos, reading pdfs and writing/scribbling/drawing functions (editing .doc & .ppt will be a bonus)? Wanted to get the surface RT until I found out they do not have the palm block technology like the surface pro. Looked at asus vivotab and realised it's as expensive as the surface pro.

Just try any of the shops in SL that sells MIC tablets. They all have display units that u can try.

For watching videos, i def find 10.1" too heavy and cumbersome esp if u r lying on the bed. Also, most 10.1" tablets like the Gal Note 10 or Gal Tab 10 are still 1280x800 i.e. the same resol hat u can find on a decent 7" or 8" tablet.

7" would be good enough for 720p videos but i think they dont do 1080p videos justice at that small size.

My ideal video-watching tablet would be bet 8" - 9" and have FHD resol ie 1920x1080 at least on an IPS screen. Which is why i just ordered the Pipo M7 Pro :)

So it depends also on the quality of your movie files.

As for web browsing, yes, i think 7" is too small for comfortable browsing.

not true, i over 40 yrs uncle.

eyes not sharp, got 7-9' tablet, in the end using a 9.7' tablet to watch movie, now looking for 10.1'

N if u really want to watch when laying down, best get those adjustable stand, very easy to use.

It does not come with the stylus right? I'm looking for a tablet with a stylus (sold separately or bundled together) which will allow me to write like normal pen and paper

May I know which agent u used for purchasing M7 Pro.

Mind sharing the shipping fee, days took for delivery and quality of service.

I have used daigou and i find they are kinda ex and non professional sometimes.

Thanks!

Wat kinda application are u lookin at?

My personal view is tat if u wan to write notes and do specific handwriting gestures, i dun think any of the china tab has a dedicated stylus, or neither are they good with one.

Usually bundled with a capacitive pen, only sensitive enough to scribble and play game.

I followed snoopydog n used hirakawa. Just ordered so have not arrived yet. My first time using agent so i dont have any idea of his quality of service. I believe snoopydog paid S$30 for his shipping

  • Onda
  • Pipo - Added
  • Ramos
  • SmartQ
  • Teclast
  • Vido / Window / Yuandao - Added

Average (2nd Tier)

  • Freelander
  • ICOO
  • Newsmy

I thought Pipo and Window (Yuandao) are supposed to be good? Based on what I see the general feedback are. Not sure because I haven't tried those brands myself other than Cube.

You have Vido and Window under different headings but actually Vido = Window = Yuandao! I guess the name change (more of a change in the spelling) is to avoid confusion as well as being sued by Microsoft.

I believe Pipo actually tries to be a "premium" brand amongst the MIC manufacturers. That's why their tablets tend to be higher priced.

From my personal experience of MIC tablets:-

- Ainol (Hero and Aurora II) has good battery life. Both still working fine (but Aurora II has overly sensitive screen) although had to sent for minor repair for the Hero to replace charging connector/board

- Bad experience with Yuandao/Window/Vido - the N80 died twice and the N70 has touchscreen problem. Neither working properly now

- My first Android tablet was the Smart Q V5. Wasn't even a capacitive screen! Anyway, the screen became unusable because it couldn't track my touch

- My Onda 818 Mini (under Shinco brand) is still new and working beautifully. No issue at all.

- Waiting delivery of my first Pipo tablet - the M7 Pro!

In any case, it's hard to make a judgement on the brands based on a few cases. Only if a trend emerges from lots of cases.

this may sound silly, does all rk3066 have battery drain issues?

i got a rk3066, i put overnight, from 81%, 12am to 9am when i on battery shows 81%, after
i watch movie 5 mins, battery drops from 81 to 65%, then from 65% can watch movie for another 2hrs.

the drop is always 20% more or less at least.

is this the character of rk3066 n so call battery drain?

other soc r better.
