Here is an interesting Sunday read.

Yatin Parasher shared his experiences visiting China’s weightlifting gyms.

Here are just a couple of interesting things he mentioned.

Things they do: EVERYTHING, the Chinese are very open to suggestions as long as they bring result. They used all kinds of bodybuilding stuff post training, they did all kinds of mobility stuff when needed.

A Sample Week:

Monday: 2 sessions, they squatted in the morning and pulled in the afternoon, the pulls correspond to the lift they did, so snatch pull, if they snatched or cl pulls if they cleaned
Tuesday: squat in the morning (alternate back front depending on what they did monday) evening pulls (alternated)
Wednesday: pulls
Thursday: nothing just accesory or soccer or basketball
Friday: pull or squat depending on what athlete needs more of
Saturday: squat and pull
And on female training:

They also train their females differently than men.. They said females have more endurance therefore could be pushed more, they lifted heavier more often and their deload was every 4th week whereas the guys they said deloaded every 3rd week.

They drank your general amino acids, bcaa during training and such.. they took creatine, they also used glucose on some days due to the extreme heat.

Recovery stuff they got massaged like twice a day, they used suction cups a lot and did a solid stretch and roll session post workouts.. in terms of supplements they used glucosamine, centrum( multivitamin) and (folic acid) this one im not sure i just know it was meant to help with red blood cells or something, the guys that read me the label didn't quite know the exact translation but it was for red blood cells... they talked very highly of american ginseng, goat bladder, ox stomach and ox ligaments for recovery. They drank TEA a lot with Chinese herbs n such. They are big into the herbs and big on the idea of boosting hormones (i assumed they meant testosterone when they said hormone) .. they also like contrast showers n icing lots too...

so how to boost hormone(test): Horny goat weed and apparently icing your testicles twice a day!! im not kidding!

bodybuilding type of stuff: your general stuff back extension hold: 6x1 min holds weighted preferably
Dumbell rows, handstand pushups, dips, pullups, hanging leg raises and all kinds of ab work, weighted pushups, unilateral dumbell presses, tons of tricep work, leg press... all of this done in the 10-15 rep range and for like 5 sets or sooo post training. Dont think they did all of this after, they just picked a couple exercises everyday and did them
Sometimes they even just did stiff legged high pulls (klokov style) with like 50kg for sets of 10s n stuff, basically depending on what areas they needed work they just did that for high rep schemes after training..

YES, they have something called the morning exercises, army team 5-6am, university was 5:30-6:30am... they go for little jogs, do plyo type of stuff.. this includes everything jumping, sprinting, warmup type stuff, unilateral leg work, pushups, situps n soo on... and as i mentioned previouslly they also use thursday as another day to either play another sport or do more accessory n plyo type of work..

One thing i will say is that every thing was individualized, so what they did depended on what the athlete was weak at... one girl she did leg press after almost all session because her legs were weak... some always did ab work, others always did more stretching or what not...

the travelling coach told me as a 62kg if you dont squat 230kg n pull 220kg ish there is no hope lol
also if you are lifting anything lower than 130/155-160 ish you arent really lifting because you can't even beat all the girls yet lol

waoo damn i thought gala's signature was exaggerating at first.

Wah, instead of icing my balls, i soaked them in hot water baths, no wonder so jelly sia.

I guess the sperm bank you running stores them by heating them up and pasteurising them.

Every other one i know stores them via some kind of freezing instead.

cool stuff. good to know. I can't even freaking pick up a 10kg weight plate yesterday.
