Uh detox is a bit more complicated than that...
Just take them as a plant nutrient source, those are always good.

Is there any visible sign that a person needs detoxing? What type of toxins anyway, other than heavy metals, and where are they stored in the body? Can detox out dioxins a not?

depending... if you work in the heavy polluted industry like oil refinery, chemical etc, you may consider to detox with chorella to flush out the heavy metal and poison :)

Chorella is good but not sufficient. It is a metal "mover" not an eliminator. Especially out of the extra-cellular matrix (ECM).

So if you take it, without moving it from cells, and without moving it OUT OF THE BODY, all you are doing is shifting trash from house to house, and never going to the garbage dump.

You may be shifting metals from ECM to your brain etc. Do you think this is a good idea?

You need:
0. A test - usually hair is the best long term test - to see what the problem metals are.
1. Something to move it out of cells - chelation or nutrient based methods
2. Something to move it out of ECM - e.g. chorella
3. Something to open up lymphatic system and detox pathways - nutrient/herb based/sauna/exercise/massage in combination.
4. good digestive tract/kidneys/liver to finally ditch the stuff out by pee or poop.
5. retest 3 months later to see if its working.

Different people are deficient in different components of this, and that's the "problem" with the one size fits all detox methods which often lead to bigger problems.

I personnaly use chlorophyll powder from unicity. just dissolve a spoon in 1.5 lt of water.
It's tasteless. It is a good for blood cleansing and oxygenation. I buy $39 for a tub that will last a month at least ( 2 pers consumption/daily)
I sometimes combine with spirulina capsules for added vitality.
