I checked with a seller for an aftermarket replacement battery and was told there are 3 choices:

  1. China (6 cells 4.4 Ah) : $30
  2. Japan (6 cells 4.6 Ah) : $45
  3. Korea (6 cells 5.2 Ah) : $55

Japan is about 50% more expensive than China cells. And Korea is almost double.

In general quality wise, how much better are the Japanese and Korean cells?
Is it worth paying more for the Japanese cells?
Or should go for the most expensive Korean cells?

Hmm, then again. How do we know if a japanese cell is indeed japanese and a korean cell is indeed korean - since most of the time, these cells and encapsulated in plastic.

That said. The korean cell has a higher capacity, so it should have a longer battery life.
