Hello! i would be graduating from uni soon but have yet to find a job :/ heard from my fren that the CI insurance T&C will get stricter in Aug so recommend me buy now. currently i only have medical and hospitalisation insurance. was thinking of PruActive Life or PruTriple Protect! from my understanding is that one is life while the other is term, am new to insurance so was wondering which would be more suitable for someone like me. thank you!

Hello there!

If you are graduating from university, i believe you would be <26?

Most optimally, you can get a wholelife/term + rider to cover ECI/CI.

The PruTriple Protect is not as competitive as lets say, Manulife CompleteCare or Aviva MultipayCI!

Perhaps I can get some details as to what you are looking out for in terms of coverage as well as your preference in terms of wholelife or term. For wholelife, based on age, it would be most recommended but the exact premium differences will have to see what is your desired coverage amount!

Why this 2 plans mentioned of all plans? Is it because your friend is selling your this? How much budget do you wan to set aside? Usually for any1 below age 30, i will recommend to look at wholelife with eci rider attached to it with max multiplier to reduce to cost of the plan.

oh i am 28 this year, coz i took some gap years as well! i am unsure about the coverage, but was hoping to pay maximum $150 a month max for now coz i am quite tight on expenses until i find a job :/

yea it was recommended by my friend who said Prudential is one of the better companies although i have totally no knowledge about the differences between the insurance companies :/ i was hoping to spend a maximum of $150 a month maybe for the best coverage i can get!

That is one way that you can look at it in term of the rider.

I would suggest you to speak to a few advisers to see which solution suits your needs :)

Yes exactly like add-on :s13:

With $150/month, are you looking for death, tpd, eci, ci, multipay ci?

If you are tight on budget, perhaps a term of 300k death, 300k tpd and a 150k multipay CI till age 70 could work! around ~$160/month OR 200k death, 200k tpd and 150k multipay till age 70 at around ~$153/ monthly. Its highly adjustable :)

That being said, still boils back down to what you really want coverage for! then I can see what we can do to work with that budget

Is star assure plan good ?

Essentially you have to know what you are comparing! Premiums? Features? Availability of riders etc.

Really very hard to gauge if its good or bad just based off the name :s13:

Haha.. You are right. It's really hard to guage according to the name itself. Any plan is a good plan as long as it serves your needs :)

Age 41 non smoker, would suggest going for a term plan. Wholelife is way to expensive for the age. I thought you are a lady 😂.
Or u asking on behalf?

Company A

25 years premium payment term

Before 70 :
200k life
200k TPD
200k CI
200k ECI

After 70
50k life + any bonus
50k TPD
50k ECI
50k CI

Monthly $268.70

Company M

25 years premium payment term

Before 70 :
200k life
200k TPD
200k CI
200k ECI

After 70
50k life + any bonus
50k TPD
50k ECI
50k CI

Monthly : ~$254

Just a quick question, are you able to check if the details you given for the NTUC Star Assure is accurate? the ratio between each coverage and multiplier looks abit weird :s13:

Why term plan? I have 2 kids age 8 & 5 . Asking for my husband :)

So for term plan, you could get perhaps you can get a 100k multipay till 70 at $1908/annually + 300k death and 300k tpd till 70 at $1019.70/annually

It work out to ~$244 monthly.

But if your focus is coverage beyond a certain age, then a wholelife isnt wrong :)

Hmm, can I just ask whats the multiplier % as well as the base sum assured?

before 70
180K Life
180K CI
150K ECI

After 70 (basic sum assured 60k/50k plus bonus)
100K CI
90K ECI

Based on what you have provided, looks like its a 60k base with 300% till age 70.

So given the 300% multiplier, I would be inclined to believe that the 180k CI as well as ECI riders would follow the same multiplier.

I went on the NTUC portal to generate :

20 year PPT
Base coverage of 60k with 300% multiplier

Before 70 :
Death 180k
CI 180k
ECI 150k

After 70 :
Death 60k
CI 60k
ECI 50k

The premium worked out to be $5746.60/annually. Just trying to figure out so I can get you the most accurate comparison across the board, thus I asked. Hope you are not offended!

COntemplating between a health and CI policy

Hi, I have been wondering on what I should consider for. I have money to purchase 1 extra insurance. Either CI or health but like i keeep on reading that CI is going to change and like I should focus on getting CI first. https://blog.policypal.com/insuranc...-dilemma-do-i-need-critical-illness-coverage/

But then like, my family does not have a history of CI. And like i feel health will be able to cover more. Is there any health policies out there which also cover CI?

Hospital cover your ci hospital bill. Not payout for ci.
