A lot of people dun go to the banks' websites and verify themselves, instead relying on others to tell them. If anything goes wrong, who r they going to blame?

Shame on all these "existing FastSaver customers" who have no idea how the account works despite being "existing". :LOL:

It has always been the case that if your FastSaver account has <$1000, you do not get any interest what so ever. Since before this promo, during this promo, and will be after this promo. This line is just a repetition of that standard FastSaver mechanic that applies on a day by day basis since the founding of FastSaver.

tl;dr - read this:

Doesn't need to know all the time. But when a new promos comes along, better to check the bank website then asking here cos nothing is official here.
How about the official CIMB CS are their words official? They represent CIMB but sometimes their words cannot be trusted. This is not unique to CIMB happen to RHB promo previously too. E.g new user open account during promo the comparison month is nil or zero? Different RHB CS give different answer. I wonder how bank brief their CS on their own promo and they are customer facing they represent the bank in customer eye at least for me.

1) You can also go CIMB promo website: https://www.cimb.com.sg/en/personal/promotions/latest-promotions/accounts/casa-sep22-promo.html
You can see 2 big tabs at the top : New Customers and Existing Customers
Scroll further down the page until the bottom where you can see a horizontal tab ‘Terms & Conditions’. Click on the V indicator (on the right side) to expand the details. You will see ‘…..*Interest/profit accrued daily and credited monthly. Daily interest/profit will be paid on the entire daily balance, provided that the balance is at least S$1,000 in your savings and S$5,000 in current account on any given day…..’

2) Here is the link for Retail Banking Fees and Charges (FastSaver : Minimum Amount to Earn Interest – S$1,000)

Opened my account 4 days ago and transferred in $1010. Created my digital token 2 days ago, so already pass the 12hrs leadtime before it becomes active.

Tried transferring out $10 via FAST, paynow to mobile / NRIC. All cannot work.

Does anybody know why or encounter the same problem? Can anybody advise the solution? Thanks!

Are their words in black and white? Is the website written down in black and white?

CIMB is slow and terrible

I opened Star Saver Account by going to Raffles place branch hoping to get preferred status faster

08.08 account opened and active on the day. i transfer x amount at 11pm

10.08, 05:00, i transfer the remaining to fulfil preferred requirement

until today i dont get my preferred status yet

I sms-ed RM and called CS but only given promise

At Citibank you get the gold status immediately even without transferring money yet

I thought there's a mention that: eligible account opening should be via online?

When i try to apply online it is only giving me FD 3.55% for 9 months

I called CS, they asked to come down to raffles for faster acct opening and preferred status

And during opening, RM mentioned status will be set immediately after transferring required amount money

Oh so it is about the FD promo not the CASA 3.5% promo.

Sometimes you call in some automated voice say call maybe recorded but the recording is at their side of cuz. As for website please note usually got clause CIMB reserve the right to amend the TnC etc kind which is same as other banks promo. So never all in your monies to any promo, investment etc my usual motto

So tell me which bank has changed their tnc half way through their promos?

All banks phrased it this way to protect them in case of errors. In fact most promos by any commercial entities will have such disclaimer.

No banks will change halfway the tnc just to piss their customers off.

What I am saying is such clause is always on their side which is why I ask in this thread before anyone experience say SCB Maybank change TnC halfway but seem so far none.

That is why one need make own decision all in your monies or spread some around to other investment instrument due to that clause or clauses.

thanks, so that means if on the following dates:
1 - 29 Aug = $0 will earn $0 interest
30 Aug deposit $10,000 --> interest = 10000*3.5%/365 = $0.95
31 Aug deposit another $10,000 --> interest = 20000*3.5%/365 = $1.91
In total, I will receive interest of $2.86, is this correct?

the interest will be spilt in 2 payment 1 on last day of the month (31 aug) and BI on 20th sep
