Need to understand the demographics.

Ocbc alot old ppl with alot of money, that are forced to use ibanking. Any fraud notifications etc they have to check with others. So 12hr.

Cimb for the average ppl, 3hr is reasonable.

Dbs/posb is poor ppl bank. This bank also houses the most ppl who live paycheque to paycheque, ppl who camp by the atm for midnight every month on payday to withdraw all their salary.
Many ppl have a dbs acct also bcoz they use it to withdraw money from their atm only. Or to use paylah on friday.
Not even worth the effort.
You know DBS no need further authentication to take up loan via their app ?

If their customers need to clear pay cheque immediately, imagine scammers take a loan and they have to pay up for the loan. These people need even more protection.

I think not uncommon, other banks also allow taking loan out of your credit card limit with no further checks.
Then it is time banks do something to protect customers from scammers.

If you read the article, only DBS has no further authentication. OCBC and UOB need some extra steps.

Guys, I advise you all not to keep money here too long.
Their anti-scam preventive measures are too intrusive imo.

Last week I wanted to clear out my entire CIMB account balance
After sliding the bar to confirm transfer transaction a message appeared saying the transaction will take place after an hour, or something like that.

I went away, thinking ok lo. Later I go check.

TLDR, I have no issues transferring and zeroing out my account with CIMB and then put back the money for a day and then zeroing out again. I think they red flag yours because you are transferring to a third party and their security systems got triggered. Age also plays a factor. Some banks are more protective of the elderly and will block transfers even to third party payees already set long long ago.

Not really age la, I think it's the fact that it's a new payee and the amount.

CIMB did the same to me when I tried to transfer 150K to a new payee but to their credit called me within 5 mins and immediately released the funds after asking the verification questions.

When I tried to transfer 50K it did not trigger this alert.

Yes and that's for the 1st time only. After that they will delay the transfer but not call u to verify. Kudos to them for taking the extra step.

I got mine too and it kept showing error message after I keyed in both card and password provided from Cimb WhatsApp bot. I called the number found in BreadTalk app and after a few times of calling me back to try, they managed to get it done successfully. $50 in the app. U should try calling the BreadTalk. :)
