In order to open the account, we must have transfer 1k into the account first?

Once u register, min to activate it, min transfer is 1k.
Whereas to qualify for the referral $10 cash back, you need to transfer 5k instead of 1k.
Interests will start calculate when u have min balance of 1k.

is this really 1.8% for the first 100k?

https://www.cimbbank.com.sg/en/pers...saver-account/cimb-fastsaver-account-faq.html

this is better than FD out there at the moment ?

think they already explained it here. its tiered. Fuss free saving account, I think this is the best in the market now.

1. Is CIMB FastSaver’s offer of 1.80% p.a. interest a promotional rate?
No, the 1.80% p.a. interest offered by CIMB FastSaver is not a promotional rate

Do note that 1.80% p.a. applies to balances above S$75,000 to S$100,000. 1.00% p.a. for first S$50,000 balances, 1.50% p.a. for balances above S$50,000 to S$75,000 and 0.60% p.a. for balances above S$100,000 will apply as long as a minimum S$1,000 is maintained in the CIMB FastSaver Account on any given day.

that will be double counting on your previous 100k?..0.6% on the additional 10k

You may as well open 2 Fastsaver Accounts

It is tiered. If have $100k effective interest rate is 1.325 %, not 1.8%.

The extra 10k gets 0.6%. As someone mentioned, open a second account, maybe the FastSaver-i and park the 10k there to get 1%.

1% x 50000 = 500
1.5% x 25000 = 375
1.8% x 25000 = 450
0.6% x 10000 = 60

(500+375+450+60)/110000 x 100 = 1.259%
