Thanks for the info :)

I guess only those POSB ones with cheque book doesn't pay any interest at all?

For CIMB StarSaver the one Henry mention has to have a min sum of 5k before they pay interest

Right, min is 5k to earn interest. After ** and maybank started offering better, my balance in current sank to the bottom.

How come not much interest in BOC SuperSaver? The rate seems one of the highest!

Account Balance Interest Rate (p.a.)
First S$20,000 0.10%
Next S$40,000 0.80%
Next S$20,000 1.80%
Above S$80,000 0.60%

How to requested 2FA token?

Need to call them to send to you?

If not cannot set up payee or transfer above S$1k.

Sent from Mercedes-Benz E250 using GAGT
They don't issue 2fa anymore. In CIMB app u should be able to setup mobile token instead.

Actually there's one account which is better than CIMB Fastsaver, BOC Supersaver. If you're willing to bear with BOC's archaic ibanking interface.

Can apply online using myInfo.

Apologies but couldn't find a thread on BOC SuperSaver ....

Called BOC customer service on their SuperSaver plan and was told it takes at least 2 weeks for the account to be approved. That's a rather long time and what if the rates are reduced by then?

Also, the account has to be linked to your PayNow. Read in an earlier post about their iBanking interface being "archaic". So, concerned that there may be a problem making payments using PayNow. Few months ago, I had to use Paynow to make a large payment.

Is it worth opening the account? Any views would be appreciated. Thanks.

I do not have any BOC account and not going into it so just sharing my thoughts after reading your post..

Noone knows if the rates will change again since there has been many rate changes this year. You should decide base on the current information you have. If the 2week is a hard dateline, then either way the fastest you can get an account is applying now.

by linking the account to paynow it just means for people to paynow you, the money will go into this account. You as a sender can use any of your other bank accounts to paynow to people...

in the end, to open or not is depends on your own needs

Many thanks Utonian for your reply and your clarification on PayNow.
