I hold CIMB Fastsaver and the CIMB Visa signature card for many years. The tnc says it applies to existing customers too. But just to be sure, I called the CIMB hotline yesterday and they confirmed that existing customers are eligible. So it is not limited to totally new customers.

There is a $120 welcome gift for new credit card till 31 Jul. Maybe you check if you are able to meet their criteria.

Usage is needed if you want the $120 cash reward. $500 spend in the first 30 days after card approval, another $500 in the subsequent 30 days. But not necessary for the 1% interest. (y)
I am applying for this one for various concomitant reasons that kind of converge, making it rather compelling for me:
(1) still holding on to my cimb fast saver from previously, and now just trying to get 1% for the 1st $10k.
(2) Citibank smrt now requires $500 min spend for up to 5% cashback. This cimb gives effectively 12% cashback (provided can spend 2x $500 consecutively to get the $120 reward).
(3) Shifting UOB one deposits to other sources like RHB, and can consider doing away with spending $500 (but there is this 3-month lock in for the UOB rebate to reckon with).
(4) There is 10% off promotion using cimb cards for some retail that I like.

does the $10k need to be fresh funds? if I already have $500 in the account and I top up $9,500. am I still eligible for the 1%?

Hi sorry for OT,

I just received my CIMB Visa Signature, and wondering if there is a monthly minimum spending? And if I fail to meet the minimum spending, any penalty? Thanks!

Also, there is this $120 cash credit, how does this work? Will it go to my CIMB fast saver account as cash?

Thanks

All CIMB credit cards do not have any annual fee. Any minimum spending is for the purpose of cash back only. See the terms and conditions for details.

I have supp cards for CIMB. Never been charged. 🤔
yeah, I checked mine after reading his post, no annual fee charged.
I have not been using CIMB cards for quite long. .. was afraid may have overlooked the fees for my supp cards as there's no paper statements.
