for the 0.5% extra

which bank do you guys use to do the giro $1000?

I don't think need to be SI right, as long as its a giro transfer with the correct description such as "SI - CIMB" will do

I understand dbs can do it but usually not credited on same day
Wanna ask the same question. For DBS, is it through "Set up Standing Instruction"? It needs to key in first month and last month. Any guidance? Thanks

I checked those bank accounts I have. GIRO only for payment of bills with selected billing organizations. Can’t set up GIRO for transfer to own CIMB account, only can do FAST but FAST not eligible for this promo. Anyone knows which bank can do GIRO?

I checked POSB and Maybank also but can only do monthly FAST to CIMB, GIRO only to pay billing organization. You managed to do GIRO, not FAST? How to do in POSB/Maybank? If FAST, when promo ends, CIMB may say it is FAST and thus not eligible.

based on tnc the additional 0.5% interest for inward monthly standing instruction will be credited on 30/10 (last working day of the month).

I did the Giro SI transfer but did not receive it. there is no certainty over whether the qualifying condition met bad marketing.

I haven’t received it either. I received it last month though.

Sometimes I wonder computer IT systems especially for banks is working 24 hours 365 days each year. Why is it if on public holiday then need to shift to next day? Is it some IT system for transferring funds do not work on public holidays or weekends?

Analogy is if it is public holidays or weekends we humans no need eat and drink? We take a break?

From the bank point of view, they can hold back the funds and earn an extra day of interests due to public holiday. Why not?

This is likely due to legacy design, every banking day has a ledger and it will close and open a new one. Ledger only close on banking days usually.

Fund transfers is more for settlement purposes, no reason why the banking system can continue to run just consolidate to do settlement.
