Transfer

Hi. Can those who have done standing instruction if this is the form to submit. TIA
For large banks, they all have this ‘recurring’ option when you want to make an online transfer. The start date of the transfer usually must be at least 1-3 days in the future. Once you are able to select the recurring option, additional fields will appear for you to complete the setup. (note: different banks may use different words instead of ‘recurring’ but the intention is the same)

You can test this with small amount & check how the entries appear on the receiving bank (CIMB) side.

Thanks ThreeSteps for your guidance! I now understand what is Standing Instruction. A few clicks from DBS app and I can bump up interest from 1.75% to 1.92% for Fast savers. Seemed easy to do. Thanks again.

Wondering if i have both FastSaver (SA) and Fastsaver-i accounts, does it mean that i can top up 75K to each of these accounts to enjoy the promo?

If I compute this correctly, if I just top up 75K & do salary credit. No credit card spend & I am a preferred customer. The overall interest for July would be 1.85% + 0.5% = 2.35% correct?
but the site also mentioned this additional interest is only for 1st 25K. So this means the remaining 50K only gets 1.33% ? or the salary credit of additional 0.5% also applies for the next 50k too?

fast saver works on tier %
for preferred @ 75k with salary credit with the current promo

first 25k = 1.8%
next 25k = 1.88%
last 25k = 2.38%
EIR for 75k = 2.02%

Read the table like this

Account BalancePrevailing Interest Rate (p.a.)*Bonus Interest Rate on Incremental BalanceAdditional Interest Rate (p.a.)^
when you credit your salary or schedule a recurring transfer (Standing Instruction via GIRO) of min. S$1,000
First S$25,0000.50%
0.8%
0.50%^
Click for details
Next S$25,0001.08%0.8%
Next S$25,0001.58%0.8%

Throw the Tnc into AI and ask it question

For CIMB Bank FastSaver, with:

  • S$500,000 deposited in July
  • $0 balance on 30 June (so full $500k counts as incremental)
  • Normal / Personal Banking (bonus = 0.70%)

Here’s the calculation:

1) Prevailing interest (FastSaver tiers)

From your promo sheet:

  • First $25k @ 0.50%
  • Next $25k @ 1.08%
  • Next $25k @ 1.58%
  • Above $75k @ 0.50%

For $500k:

  • First $25k → $10.62
  • Next $25k → $22.93
  • Next $25k → $33.53
  • Remaining $425k → $180.48

Total prevailing interest = ~$247.56

2) Bonus interest (0.70%)

Bonus applies on full incremental balance.

500,000×0.007×31365500,000 \times 0.007 \times \frac{31}{365}500,000×0.007×36531
= ~$297.26

Total July earnings

$247.56 + $297.26 = ~$544.82

So if you park $500k for the whole of July, expect about $545 total.

One important note:
FastSaver’s base rate after $75k drops to only 0.50%, so for large sums like $500k, StarSaver usually pays much more (about $813 total for the same amount). FastSaver is better for smaller balances.
