Cingjing->Taichung->taipei

Hi all..I plan to go tw for 6 days 5 nights.1st night Taipei,2nd night cingjing,3rd n 4th night taichung n last night Taipei. 2 nights in Taichung is it too much?what is there to see in tai Chung(possible to make a trip to Alishan)?i had been Taichung once many years ago only remember being to wen wu Miao and sun moon lake (probably will revisit for my family's sake).my bro n gf 1st time to tw,is it a wasted trip to them if spend most of the days outside Taipei?

It depends on what your family likes. Shopping, nature, scenery, old temples?
We stayed in Taichung for 2 nights as one of the days, we made a day trip to Xitou recreation park for hike.
