Cingjing to Hualien

Hi, can help to adv what is the best way to travel from CJ to HL?

We plan to go on Nov.

Try to do some research, seem like best way is to hire a private drive .. and it will take around 4 hours to reach . .can anyone cfm is it so long?

Also any driver to recommend?

Any place of interest on the way to Hualien?

Have 7 adults and 2 kids.

Doubt 4 hours unless u say u not stopping at hehuanshan or any midway stops.

hm.... i think about 6 to 7 hours for me with stopping at petrol station, hehuanshan and the big tree if i recall correctly... cus left the minsu at 10am and reach hualien at about 4 to 5pm

Do take note the journey is not just long but winding as well... i felt a bit giddy during the trip... candy and sweets helps... but if your having kids along... dunno can tahan or not...
the other way is to go one big round... go back taichung take HSR to taoyuan and taipei then switch to normal train to hualien but could be more costly since you have many people

high mountain sickness n car sickness..it like tat wan....:(

That was our consideration when we were planning for Cingjing and Hualien for our itinerary too (we have a 4yo child). Thus in the end we chose the train method from Taipei to Hualien.
