CISSP Requirements

Hi, i m thinking of taking the CISSP course and exam. However, i m not sure if i have the experience to be accredited. I have been working as Desktop Support for 6 years now.

desktop jump in security a bit hard.

CISSP has 10 domains which many a desktop may not touch on. (assuming you are normal PC tech, not those google desktop geeks).

Can try to request to switch into security analyst role first. Like those ID creations etc and try to get involved in audits which will be a great help.

10 domains are the older version. Latest CISSP has only 8 domains. There are new contents added.

anyone take the 5 day course for cissp in nus iss ?

5 day learning enough to pass ?

I think is not so much of the 6 yrs experience but the exposure to security principles and knowledge. It cover the full spectum of security and put under 8 domains. Having knowledge of one areas will not be enough.

But of course it is not easy to have experience in all domains before taking the exam. For those domains (1 or 2) that you not familiar, then you just based on pure memory from study guide.

Try to find opportunities to touch abit on each domains such as security operations, network security or identity management, which commonly needed in SI environment.
