If i spend $360, it will be 3600 points for a $10 cash rebate which is only 2.78%, i thought instant 3% cashback is better? :s11:

Depends how you rate the reward points and how you going to use it.

For me, since I'm a miles person:-

8X per $1 brings me 3.2 miles. Which translate to $0.64 for 3.2 miles @ 0.02cpm; so it's a 6.4% rebates/ cashback to me.

It's always a lesser benefit if you're redeeming for a $10 cashback. Reason is simple. Bank don't want to lose lot of $$ from Cashback. Miles is different, they don't care about u spend the miles. But they care about you redeem and spend their cash.

The 15% perceived value of business class redempion is really just an academic exercise because none of us here are willing to spend cold hard cash just to buy a business class ticket.

So this value needs to be further discounted by 50%, which makes it 7.5%

So for me, if a transaction offers 10% CASH rebate, i would take that anytime over 4 miles per dollar.

Quite true. For me, since I already have an excel sheet to help me analyse and determine which is best bang for buck, so I have no issue on which card offers me more benefit.
