Dear HWZ Admin

I have received a warning for the following post:

https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/posts/150269541/

Given by
Details of warning
Warning: Posting Inappropriate Comment
Warning points
0 (Expires Nov 24, 2024)

Exercises of these nature (personnel access control) serves the function of deterrence similar to high visibility patrol and they had been conducted at the stated locations in the past. What I am suggesting is to do so on Sundays due to the heavy human traffic.

There are other locations that may as have similar human traffic which I am unaware of. My suggestion is limited to my subjective experience.

As such, I am unsure what led to the warning. I hope you could:
1. Convey my intent to the complainant(s); and
2. Justify the warning.

If the warning was given on grounds of perception biases such as, but not limited to race, may I suggest you:
1. Rescind the warning; and
2. Reconsider the “fit” of the moderator responsible in the issuance of the warning.

Thank you.

Checked on your warning. We received complaint that your post is suggesting that the security screening be targeted at people of a certain race as they are known to frequent those specific locations that you mentioned in your post. Please be mindful that HWZ forums is a public forum and be more sensitive to other readers when posting comments.

Dear Dragon

Thanks for responding. I could only reply via a new thread as the previous one is not open to reply.

Paya Lebar is not exclusive to a certain race even if it is frequented by whosoever. Many churchgoers, most are Chinese, conjugate there as well. The same goes for two other locations.

By validating the complaint, you:
1. Acknowledge the presence of enclave; and
2. Advocate for inactions due to fear of invoking discriminatory feelings of the enclave.

Here belies the question, does the warning suggests we place the feelings of enclave over public safety?

Your team needs to be cognisant intent and interpretation (in this case, race is not at the back of my mind but that of the complainants). More importantly, not be a pawn that would potentially empower a certain individuals or groups who seek validation through complaints. You could call toxic, schadenfreude or colloquially poo-poo stirrers. Whatever you are comfortable with.

For your consideration to rescind the warning.
