Had my desktop fixed up by someone, and after 4 years of not cleaning the fans, they are super dirty. The dust is so thick that it can fall off the front fan.

My problem is I do not know how to remove the case front fan for cleaning. And how best to clean it. Not a good idea to wash it right?

Think the dust is causing my gpu to overheat.

Thanks

removing your fan depends on how it is mounted. worse case if you have no clue on dismantling just get thoes hand type vacume cleaner turn it on, use a paint brush and then start bruishing with the vacume beside it to suck out the dust.

Beside heat issue, the bane of SFF and ITX casings is reaching to clean the fans.

I think if you planning to get a SFF/ITX case, its a good idea to have a well planned intake(s) with easily removable filters, regardless if watercooling or not.

Unless you're like me who's comfortable with taking apart whole system every once in a while to clean literally everything down to dust stuck to vrm thermal pads and actually like doing so :D

If the dusts are already deep rooted no duster can help except to clean it using a cloth after taking out the fan.
