Cleaning of thermal paste

Hi, just a question to ask

Which is the best solution to clean away totally dried up thermal paste?
Yea, dried up as in, I use ruler try to scrape off also cannot... lol!

Isopropyl 70%, methylated spirit 95% or denatured alcohol 95%?? These are the ones that are readily available at nearby guardian~

I know there are cleaning solutions specific for thermal paste but I can't wait, cause my laptop gpu is running at 103 degrees celcius just by playing LoL!! Opened up just to realise the paste is hard... (also just claimed warranty 3 months ago @ laptop general hospital).. probably inferior paste used

Why laptop post in hardware clinic? Well, thermal paste itself is used in all cpu/gpu cooling.. so... haha~

Dip Isopropyl on the dried up thermal paste until it soften enough to clear off.

Ya.. Isopropyl alcohol 99.5% or adhesive remover from 3M.

Nail polish removal? Wouldn't it contain other stuff in the mixture such as oil that might stay on the chip?

Use lighter fluid. Most adhesives cannot be dissolved by alcohol.
