Used to. Not anymore with iPhone 5. iOS handles this, unlike Android. Hence there's no need to close the apps.

According to a battery app, batteryDoctor. Facebook consume the most battery if left in the background, so i will close it after using, battery seem to last longer if i close the app.

For the rest of the apps i did not care to close it after using them.

U can try my suggestion if u use the facebook app regularly and let us know, i dont know whether is it a psychological effect or not....:s22:

Is it possible to completely turn off Push.

Although I set manual for notifications, my SBS transit app with alert " none" still pops up.

I'm on IOS6.1

Depends. But it's just a placebo effect.

Still sometimes hand itchy close it.

don't bother with closing background apps, 9.9 out of 10 it's not running nor is it consuming any memory

iirc there's only 2 service that allows an iOS background app to continue running, the location and audio service.

active location service apps is very easy to detect via settings.

audio, you can obviously hear it, unless the app developer decides to play punk and play infinite loop sound at zero volume when in background to purposely drain your battery

What do you mean by background apps?. Not sure if it is related to my problem. Camera App and GPS App unable to close even after I exit the App resulting in rapid battery drainage. Would closing the background APP, double click home button solve my problem?.
