If you don't have lots of laundry to do, i.e. some people one set of clothing can wear a few days, bedsheet can use 3~4 months, then no point of course. These type can just buy a few more sets of clothing, surely the first set will be dry after two weeks

Otherwise, especially for those with young children, dryer is really a very useful equipment. Personally, my family have to do laundry everyday plus new flats basically no place to hang clothing, so dryer is essential for less stress.

Dryer can stack on top of washing machine. It is a very common arrangement. Of course, this requires a front loading washing machine.

put in my spare room and set aircon to 26 dry mode with fan on

some clothes also hang in my laundry yard with aircon compressor heat helping to dry also
