Actually, if it's not soldered, I wonder if you can just tear open and replace the battery.

Saw some pics of 2032 version, machiam scotch tape around it, lol.

Is called heatshrink. And yes once you take it apart is just the same 2032 or 2016 button cell.

If I'm not wrong, the only difference is the battery thickness.

Thicker, so it has more capacity. The thickness can tell from the name btw. 2032 - 20mm dia x 3.2mm / 2016 - 20mm dia x 1.6mm

Typical capacity:
CR2032 - 240mAh
CR2032 - 90mAh

Only suggested replacing it directly if it's not soldered...cos I bo skill and tools, lol. and looking at pics with the transparent heatshrink tubing, didn't look soldered.

Found a page with some DIY tips, they replaced it without soldering. I guess if want to be extra kiasu, that's less secure than soldering cos the tape might loosen over time if the adhesive weakens. But for non-mission critical personal comp, wrap as tight as you can should be okay. At most just re-do.

i DIY-ed for my old old laptop.
remove the black plastic and gently use a small scraper to remove the small solder points between the battery and +/- points.
then put it back together using those high temp 3M black tape (those use for electrical wiring kind)
and it works.
cheap and good alternative.

In future, just replace with any 3V button cell lithium battery. Any one from 2032, 2025 or 2016 as long as enough space in the battery compartment.

I don't bother to go all the way to SLS to get these batteries, I'll grab any available 20mm series and solder it using the wires salvage from the flatted battery and wrap it with 20mm heat shrink.

Just before you solder the wires to the button cell, use a razor blade or needle file to file away the plating layer on both the positive (top) and negative (bottom) node of the cell and expose the bare copper base. Solder using a 60W iron and don't overheat the cell while soldering, a 2 to 3mm bare patch is enough for the solder to hold the wires to the cell. Wrap it up using heat shrink (if available), else use any PVC insulation tape will do.
