That is only true when traffic is light or moderate. And in these situations, it does not matter that they are taking up the whole lane.

But when it comes to a traffic jam, bikes tend to weave thru traffic and thus contribute much lesser to the jam.

Motorcycles were never liked by the authorities and rich.

1)everyday, people always complain about the noisy and smoky 2-strokes. But 2-strokers are rare now...however people still got stuck mentality to complain noisy motorcycles.

2)rich car drivers NEVER like motorcycle to share their road. when a motorcycle is in front of the cars, the car will either stick so near to the motorcycle to force bike to change lane, or horn at the bike for blocking the lane.
I have observed and expreimented it daily....car following a car no problem...kwai kwai follow even if front car leaves a safety gap. But if the front vehicle is a motorcycle does the same thing, 99% of the time the rear car will HORN or move so close to bike rear wheel trying to force the bike out!

3) the view that motorcycle causes more accidents and traffic jams are ingrained in the rich drivers mind.


so with the 10% quota reduction.......
more poor people will keep n renew their old motorcycle, lesser deregistration...and lesser Coe returned for bidding.......
there will come a time $10,000 for bike COE!!!

Only when coe drop to 20k n below then will see the "real" price of car..

5 yr max loan is no big deal if you only loan 50% of the amount.
