my rig is only about 1.5years old.

have been experiencing cold boot issue. computer will boot up till roughly windows loading screen/ desktop and will shut down completely. If i were to turn it on again immediately, computer will boot normally, sometimes with the message that says windows has unexpectedly shut down(launch normally/ proceed to windows repair)

No abnormal sound from all fans, pc running silently

I have tried replacing CMOS battery and resetting it, running w/o GPU, swap RAM, clean out dust with air compressor.

Did a check on CPU temperature in BIOS, it idles at 45deg cel. at first and slowly climbs to around 50-55deg cel. Using Stock fan

what could be the issue?

Clean ram with alcohol

If same problem, either PSU or graphics card needs replacement

Get superflower 650w

i have cleaned the ram and tried running without the graphics card, had the same issue, so i guess graphic card is working well?

This isolate graphics card as the cause, next move on the PSU.

If psu cold boot problem, it shouldn't have able to load Windows half way before shut down, have to check bsod message, suspect could be your ssd drive or the sata port problem

hmm..i don't get any bsod. if i were to boot it immediately after the unexpected shut down, it either boots normally or have the message "windows have shutdown unexpectedly"etc

if it's ssd issue, is there any chance to boot into windows?

I'm looking to get aftermarket cpu fan to replace stock fan, after which if problem still persist i might just change out the board

p.s. i'm not proficient in these thus some terminologies might throw me off

Dont worry, shdnt be ssd issue.

Replacing cpu cooler wouldnt solve it either

if the psu still have warranty, go bring to distro to test. Then u can go sls buy replacement or lazada. when u collect back can sell.

For lazada i think u can use ntu010 for $10 off

i have already ordered coolermaster hyper 212x off lazada fulfilled by pc themes at $65, after discount promo "buspromo11" for $11 off + shopback debates, think abt $50 only :D

will take this cooler as future investment. if problem persist i will move to psu, and lastly, board :(

just to clarify, as stated in my first post, after the 2nd immediate bootup,pc will run normally. no abrupt shutdown halfway or so, able to leave it on through the night. it's only occurs during a cold boot/ booting after i shutdown the com from window.
able to restart com from windows desktop without any issue

If that is the case, it sounds very much like a psu problem, which I have encountered before, I also was suffering from USB shorting warnings in Windows. After I changed a new psu, no such isses

Have you try 1 stick of ram at a time with cold boot? Heat issue is especially hard to pinpoint in troubleshooting. By the time you run memtest, they are already warm, so no issue surface.

That leaves out only cpu & motherboard.

if that's the case, i might be looking to upgrade mainboard, any recommendations?

Lazada-TaQBin sent another person's CPU cooler order to me :s22: now I have no idea where my order landed up.
