Currently in PTP PES B1L1. I had no idea prior to enlistment I had such medical problems. So one or two days after enlisting the PT began, was quite siong, ran alot. After more than a week, started to feel sharp pain in right ankle and swelling, to the point where I cannot even run and can at most only walk fast.

Decided to report sick and MO said was just muscle strain. Gave me painkillers. However the pain did not subside but got much worse. So I tahan another week until cannot tahan and report sick again, this MO say tendon inflamed and something about flatfoot, excuse RMJ till end of week and told me to come back next week he will refer to specialist. So over weekend I went to private specialist to check, he said one of my leg longer than the other and my right foot arch collapsed as a result. Got a letter from the specialist too.

My question is, what will happen to me if I am referred to specialist? How long do these referrals usually take? Is there a possibility I might get OOT or posted out? I do apologize if I am asking stupid questions, this is my first time posting and I do not know much about how the whole system works.

What you mean what will happen to you? You just go see specialist lor.

Depends on what are the appointments available.

There's a possibility if they feel that you should be OOT. You may then get posted to a unit first before coming back for re-BMT.

Thanks for the reply! I was just wondering what will happen while waiting for the specialist appointment. Will I just stay on Tekong on status and follow my platoon around?

Depends on whether you will be given a status.

Was given 30 day excuse RMJ on 5th june, Appointment with specialist on 30 June. If I add up all the days that I will be on excuse (1 week previously), it adds up to about 5 weeks. In your opinion and based on similar cases, do you think I will get OOTed? I am currently 1 month into PTP phase and have only participated 2 weeks worth of activities. Thanks!

Not sure about the current sys. Usually is 100 days excuse then refer medical board then down grade. So right now you are excused for 30 days, so you need to wait for another 70. So either u recourse BMT post out then continue your excuse and downgrade .If not stuck in tekong as a recruit for 100 days.

Would like to know, will I only get OOTed by the MO and sign the OOT form only after seeing the specialist and getting the specialist memo then pass it to the MO? Till today I still have not been OOTed despite missing so much training and my appointment at CGH sports and medicine centre is this Friday. Thanks!

Because I don't know the answer? If you know, answer him. If you don't know, don't twirl people around. Do you see me twirling people around? You are always asking redundant questions instead of answering the questions. People want to know A,you ask them B. Either you know or you don't know. If you don't know, just leave it as it is.

TBH i'm quite confused about how the system works. Also curious about when and what determines you getting OOT.

I think you should be more concern about the collapse arch and how it will affect you later on in life.

Cause sometimes you don't know what you don't know till people try to guide you what you need to know based on what you are talking about.
