Most importantly must have local warranty or international warranty. Those two notebook are too low end and it will be quite slow.

i second this, don't buy those low-end 1-2 year use laptops one. buy something used which you can upgrade ram, if you can, it will last you more years than this soldered rams.

Bro how to know which model can upgrade ram? How to tell from spec?

Brand A sounds like either Lenovo/ Acer. Brand B sounds like Maibenben in Lazada. :s13:

If that is the case for brand B, I think you can try. While it is true these laptops are very underpowered, they work well for very basic work and for HBL. I agree as well that ideally they should have 8GB of ram, or at least upgradeable. If it is Acer/ Lenovo, it is highly unlikely you can upgrade.

I wouldn't buy anything with Atom, Celeron or Pentium especially with an eMMC drive.

If only between the two options then I choose the second one ba

The China brand is way superior.

Speaking as an owner of three Chinese-brand Apollo Lake and Gemini Lake notebooks.

Nonsense. Debian and Opensuse are flying on my Apollo Lake and Gemini Lake notebooks even with the processor and iGPU throttled to minimum speeds.

Very sharp and sexpert bro.

Thinking of 8G RAM 240G SSD at over $400 or 8GB RAM 256GB PCI-E SSD + 1TB HDD AMD Ryzen 5 2500U / AMD Radeon Vega 8 Graphics which is close to $600.

or should go for 4 X412FL-EK294T which is double the price for the intel and local warranty

The 8GB 240G is a very good combination, but I think the prices have gone up since I last saw it. If you are not in a hurry, then just wait for the next IT fair to see if they have some discounts. The last time I checked, it was during this Maibenben flash sale period where I can get this 8GB 240G below 400 after discount.

But having said that, if you do intend to step up one level, the Ryzen 2500U configuration is much better. It will certainly run circles around any laptop with a Pentium Silver/ Celeron chip in there regardless of workload you throw at it.

with **, where can we buy when there is IT fair? Any idea when is this happening?

Below 400 for 8GB 240G is really good price

Yes the Ryzen is much better. But it is 2500U so wondering if it is worthy to top up the double amount to get i7 intel from local instead.

At the same price, Intel based laptops tend to be very low end. I've been using a Ryzen 5 2500U Thinkpad for more than a year and I feel its still a good CPU despite newer gens. If you are concerned about getting from a Chinese PC maker, then consider getting from say Lenovo, but you will need to spend more for similar specs. If so, you can consider a ThinkPad E495 which is reasonably priced.

.

The last physical PC fair in Q1 got cancelled as well, but there's a virtual PC fair that took place on all 3 E-tailers. You can check when is the Q2 IT fair last year, and it should be around that period of time.
