Hi all,

Received a letter to attend VA at Hendon Camp on 27th July. Just wondering if anyone is able to give me insight for the assessment. I'm interested in joining the CDOs but my physical fitness isn't that great tbh. Is that gonna affect my chances of getting in?

physical fitness can be trained. u may go in with 1 pack and come out with 6

Mentality and IQ more important. Fitness can be trained.

I got an ex-jc mate zero fighter for pull-up (last time still on 5 station) and more than 13min for 2.4 run. But he is smart, has leadership potential and is a very positive/likeable guy.

He grad as commando officer.

Must at least be combat fit.

My time, those who do not wear specs and is medically fit, will kena call up for assessment.

At least for me and a one or 2 guys that I know...

My time, still got a lot of non-specky people around.

But, I became slightly short-shorted after all the late nite mugging before I started my NS .....

Anyway, nowadays, specky can be commandos, even pilots ... times have changed...

Criteria and experiences change with the times .... my NS was 3 decades ago, so what I know is unlikely to be applicable today...
