Hi All,

I have not been following the hardware scene for quite some time. not sure my "eyesight" still good or not. please give your comments and better recommendations for the below specifications. :D

Budget: 1.4K
Usage: Basic photo editing(40%), gaming (20%), movies(20%), surfing(10%), MS office(10%).

CPU : i5 4690
Mobo : Asrock B85M Pro 4
RAM : G.Skill DDR3-1600MHz 8GB (2X4GB)
Graphics : Gigabyte R9 270X 4GB
HDD : WD Blue 1TB
PSU :Superflower 550W Full Modular Power Supply
Casing : Corasir Carbide 300R
DVD-R : Any $24 OEM...

Note: Not going to go for SSD as it would likely push out of budget.

Please recommend a monitor to go with the specifications. Just wondering, those Scythes Gentle Typhoon case fans still available @ PC Themes?

TIA

instead of the zotac gtx 760, get the palit 960 2gb from lazada @ 299. purchase it before 9th september to get metal gear solid phantom pain game code, sell that off (for at least $50) and you've got yourself a better and cheaper gpu :s12: price can be further lowered with shopback and discount codes!

Hi Gents and Ladies (if any),

how about monitor? I am trying to keep all under $1.4K budget.

Can ignore keyboard and mouse.

GTX 960 only comes with 128-bit memory bus width, which limit the GPGPU processing significantly for large files.
