Hi guys. Just some final queries before I buy the rig.

Which should I get? ASUS GTX 970 or Sapphire R9 290X Tri-X
And if this spec is able to run games like dying light on ultra setting

Intel i5 4460 CPU With MSI H97 Pc Mate
Kingston 1600Mhz 4GB Ram
Samsung 24x DvD-Rw
Sapphire R9 290X Tri-X 4GB
Thermaltake SE-Series 730 Watt
NZXT Phantom 410 ATX

Much thanks! :D

Hmmm why get 4gb ram only? Recent games ram usage can go quite high recommended to get 8gb. PSU can get superflower hx600, 750 watts a bit over kill for single GPU.

I'd say get the R9 290x because at least you get the full 4gb of vram rather than a gimped version.

The 290x depends on what brand you want.

MSI R9 290X Lightning Edition & Sapphire r9 290X TriX. This 2 are different r9 290x to begin with.

Sapphire r9 290x is not a custom PCB done by Sapphire. The board is a reference card board with some uber cooler strapped onto it.

Next is MSI r9 290x Lightning edition. Its different than the Sapphire r9 290x. It is custom PCB done by MSI themselves. Highly binned and with a good cooler.

Some of our online forumers here have reported a max load of 74deg for the Lightning edition. Which is quite good for a volcanic chip.

On the other hand you we have the GTX970.

970 on the other hand takes lesser power and cooler than the r9 290x. But its slower than the r9 290x by 8%-10% depends on the which tier and brand of r9 290x you compare with.

So to narrow down, if you want something very powerful in the expense of heat output and more power consumed. Then the r9 290x lightning is for you.

If you want something polar bear friendly then the 970 is for you.

Apart from that, if you cant get the lightning version then the Sapphire card can be the next option, but note is just a default r9 290x. Many people mistaken that the TriX version is the atas version of Sapphire range. In fact its not.

No issues. Only 1 game that will bring all gpus down to its knees.

Crysis 3. Even top tier card cant handle 60fps constant.
