Due to issues, i didnt have time to go get my parts. And now im getting it tomorrow!

I was hoping for a few comments on my choices for parts as this my first time building a PC. One other change is that i found out that my software can use GPU to render (tho im still figuring out how it works.)

So this my updated list of parts:
Mobo: Fatal1ty Z170 Gaming K6
CPU: 6TH GEN INTEL CORE I7 PROCESSOR 6700K
Cooler: CORSAIR H100i GTX CPU COOLER
RAM: KINGSTON HYPERX FURY 2400MHZ Dual Ch (Red)
SSD: SAMSUNG 250GB 850 EVO
HDD: SEAGATE 1TB 7200RPM HDD
Case: CORSAIR CARBIDE AIR FLOW 540
PSU: CORSAIR RM 850W 80+ GOLD
GPU: GIGABYTE GTX980Ti G1 Gaming GDDR5
Monitor: Dell U2414H

Is there gonna be a bottleneck anywhere or smth?
Thx in advance.
The monitor is a bit undermining the power of your GPU.

Yea. Robbed a bank. So i got more to spare liao. But trying to keep below 3K liao.

Anw im gonna get 2x 8GB RAM. Sorry about that.

Next time rob bank jio me can? :D would kill (ants) to have your budget

And I agree with enenyi got 980ti liao go for at least a 1440p or 144hz lah

Btw what server are u on for gw2 and did u buy HoT yet? Curious cus I haven't buy and $107 dollar(deluxe) for an expansion abit heart pain

Looking through your build, I realise that ur build and ur purpose dont tally.

GTX 980 Ti for rendering? Using a quad-core chip and on a 1080p 60Hz monitor? Seriously?

Wad u shld be looking at is this:
CPU+MB: Either get a cheap i7-5820k + X99 combo or a nice-looking i7-6700k + Z170 combo.
RAM: 2 x 8GB. Kingston FuryX RAMs are the cheapest locally, if u dun want the barebones Green PCB valueRAMs.
GPU: Seriously, a GTX 970 is way more than enough.
SSD: This is where u shld invest in. Get a SSD with 512GB or higher capacity for rendering.
HDD: Your choice.
PSU: Your choice.
Casing: Your choice.
Monitor: At least go for a Dell U2715H 1440p screen.

On second thoughts, assuming ur main priority is still 3D rendering and gaming is second/third priority, change the GPU to a Quadro. Maybe a Quadro K2200 would be good for u and ard the same price as a 980 Ti. And since the Geforce equivalent of the Quadro K2200 is the GTX 750 Ti, it can still meet your gaming requirements.

Eh. Isnt it pretty much what i have listed? Aside from the GPU and SSD size?

Ok monitors i agree. Maybe i'll cut back on the GPU and the budget can go towards the monitor. (I actually like Gigabyte's GPU designs, so.. I probably have to mod the LED to fit my theme, changing it to a red LED. Seen the guides.)

Would 27" be too big. Cos i dont have much table width and cant set it too far back. I think the width is around 800mm only? But in actual fact its shorter by another 150mm cos i have my sockets routed in the table. Any idea how far back should i sit then? Dell 27" should be good right?

Then on the topic of GPU, quadro is more suited for rendering ah? Okok. I just thought 980ti has way more cuda cores so it wld render faster? Maybe i got misconception abt how it works. I havent really looked at quadro so i dont really know anyth abt it.

Cannot sia. Just robbed. Must lie low now. Shhhh.

I in Tarnished Coast and alr buy the HoT deluxe liao.

Anw on the point on GW2, it is apparently a CPU intensive game rather than GPU.

Not really. CPU chip (go 6-core or stay at 4-core for rendering), GPU (go Quadro or Geforce). Which CPU and mobo platform u choose may end up with u having to scale back on other parts like casing and psu to stay withib budget.

27" monitor is usually 67.2cm across. So it will fit ur 80cm length desk. Or maybe not of u have speakers flanking the monitor. It wont be too big unless u sit less than 50cm away from the monitor.

Whatever you do you have to extend your budget later.

Scrimping on power supply is a no-no. Maybe if you're scaling back from a 1200 platinum then perhaps yes ... but there are cheaper options than Corsair.
Just buy Superflower Leadex Gold. It's cheaper, has non-existent ripple, epic stability and low noise sonically. I ish using FSP Aurum PT 1200 because easier to sleeve and damn cheep.

And don't scale back on a case! Sure regret huan.

Oh i was refering to table width in the sense of the space uh.. the furthest i can put the screen away from me. I have alot of space lengthwise. I think about 2metres of space?

But wow 27" screens are a huge jump from the price of 24". Looking at dell U2715H.
Im partly sticking to dell due to the availability of displayport input, which is also due to my GPU choice that has 3 displayport output.

Ya anw. I get your point. I alr know the options available to me.

U2715H is also in another class of it's own :s22:
It's price might as well buy Dell's 4K :s13: Not the TN panels tho ...
You can go for U2515H as well. There are other 27" WQHD dells that I can suggest but I forgot ... Go home then check :s13:

U2515H is harder to find in SLS leh. Dont seem to see any on the pricelists.
I could do with U2515H price. But now just need find the shop to buy from.
Im gonna get from bizgram, cos their prices seems the lowest for now. Will have to chk TradePAC's price on the spot tmr.

My considerations for monitors so far are:
1. at least 24"
2. Displayport input

Well i'll wait see wad u suggest first. :D

Which components wld affect my rendering (Vray software for Rhinoceros: CPU rendering)?

One other change is that i found out that my software can use GPU to render (tho im still figuring out how it works.).

The FAQ for Vray for Rhino states no :s11:

Question: Does V-Ray for Rhino support GPU rendering?

Answer: At this time V-Ray does not use the video card or the GPU when rendering.
