Did urs desktop restart without any blue screen or error code? Mine happened very randomly initially without any warning and it restart more often from 4~5 hrs to 1~2hrs after a few weeks.
If ur psu is out of warranty maybe can open it up to check for bloated capacitor.
Ya, no blue screen. Most of the times, the screen just go black. Audio still playing, i believe programs still running. It just black out. Its not gfx problem cos I got change before. I always have a slight hunch could be mobo or psu but not sure how to test cos the problem comes and goes very randomly.

Maybe I will open it up and see.

Mine is sudden pc auto restart when doing nothing much like watching movies, maybe psu is dying and not giving enough power to gpu at some points or the psu under voltage protection kick in .

Ok guys, ty for feedback! If I go Ryzen 1600X, the cost is below:

• CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1600X 3.6GHz 6-Core Processor
• CPU Cooler: Corsair - H60 74.4 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($109)

For a frame of reference: I am currently using a CM Seidon 120v v3 plus to cool my 1600x. Prime95 stress test CoreTemp reports around mid-high 70s deg c. I am using the fans that came with the s120v-v3 kit, fan speed controlled by mobo bios. If 77 deg c is too high for you, you might want to consider a 240mm radiator set, if you insist on the water cooling route.

Thanks man!

For Reason 1: Sure, I will have a look around. Just that I already owned a H80 so might as well use it.

For Reason 2: Actually for GPU, I do manually OC. Just CPU and Ram I don't for my current build. So am I right that after manually OC, GPU Boost 3.0 will boost the GPU even further?

For Reason 3: I want a mATX case due to limited space and TT V21 seems to fit the bill very nicely!
H80 is worth it for 120mm cooler though. If you already have it then reuse ba.

Not too sure about gpu boost stacking with manual oc. I don't think possible but I could be wrong.

There's Fractal Design Focus Mini with window at the same price. The TT Core V21 is not small at all. Suggest you take a look at SLS before deciding to purchase it.

Sent from PM me if you wanna build a DIY PC or wanna learn how to make one yourself :D using GAGT

gpu boost works on top of your oc. if the old boost was 1.9ghz, a +100 core would set it to ~2ghz. overclocking is just a clock speed offset for each voltage.

Pascal boost explained
1. The dpm states, where overclocking comes in
RqmKjal.png

2. Where boost 3.0 come in
-Every ~10C (~39, 49, 59c) increase drops a bin in the boost 3.0 frequency vice versa.
-Each boost 3.0 frequency bin (based on user finding) is 12.5MHz

Pascal frequency is both combined for basics.
-You can't touch the basic curve, but can add a per dpm state offset in mhz
-You can touch power limit
-Max voltage unlock(+100% voltage) caps out at ~1.09v

You adjust the overclock in pascal by balancing out all these dependencies.

using the curve to undervolt the gpu by overclocking is pretty nice to lower temps on gpus in laptops.
