I don't think you will go wrong with that setup. BUT, a minor nitpick is that I find the intel stock cooler to be somewhat..ugly in a system.

Just my 2 cents.

Hey bro, haha we kinda going for similar stuff. Your rig seems ok, maybe add some bling bling cpu cooler and led fans.

Peripherals... IMO should not get the MX239H. If I'm right its just a regular 23 inch 60hz monitor right? Although aesthetically quite pleasing its very overprice for 23".. Dell S2340L went for $199 in PCShow and the bezel quite flat almost close to Asus also.

Maybe with that budget for a monitor you can topup abit(idk how much, maybe no nid topup) for a 120hz++ monitor? Or the Asus 144hz(quite ex i think). Or a 1440p Korean 27" Monitor - totally different experience and clarity.

Keyboard, if you want blingbling the corsair does quite well.. but can consider CM Storm keyboards, pretty solid. I hate the idea of a thin metal piece and skeleton-looking keyboard like the corsair. Mechanical keyboards you can take a look at filco for very sturdy and long lasting build or ducky (bling bling led keycaps, very popular and well reviewed). I think the ducky lights up the letter of the key itself too so very nice looking, and a wide array of colors to choose. CM also alot of backlighted KB, but mostly red :o

Death adder very solid shld have no problem! 2013 is green led though just take note!

Agree but I'm not gonna OC so not gonna buy a cooler at the moment. Might be getting h80i, dominator platinum in the future for extra bling

Rig, blue led. Keyboard, red led. Mouse, green led. Hahaha I just like the look of the corsair kb. It's either corsair or ducky. Haha I know nothing about monitors. Chose mx239h cause of aesthetics and reviews seems good? 1080p 60hz no ghosting?

PSU can go with FSP Platinum 650W @ $149, 2 more years warranty than Seasonic G series and has higher efficiency as well.

For monitor, at $300+, can consider U2412M too.

MX239H seems to be better from the tech specs eh? What about VE248H?

Those response rate on the official specs mean nothing. Need to really test out other factors to calculate the actual input lag (meaning from the moment you press an action to the moment is show on the screen) Recommend tftcentral website, they test out many monitor very detailed and give lengthy comparisons with proper equipment used, dun think the asus mx239/279 is there though cos relatively new.

If input lag not an issue(we cant really see difference between 10-20ms, unless you are competitive fps player) then another reason to go with the dell ultrasharp series is 5Year PERFECT PANEL guarantee. Meaning one single dead pixel found and they cover it for you. The warranty is also legendary(can read up about it) compared to asus (if im nt wrong there are no zero-deadpix guarantee for any of asus monitor, and most are 3years)

Yea aesthetically not nice, and it has antiglare coating (boo ugly) although some people prefer non-reflective cos glossy can be quite a pain depending on your setup.

Warn you 1st, the ultrasharp series recently many QC issues reported, but the warranty will still cover everything so no need worry.. just waste time if you suay and get a bad set.

Asus monitor nv really heard anything but can see in hwz monitor section top few thread got one guy have dead sub pixel, HWZ Asus rep ask him to give details to forward to department but in the end nothing happen so far(i think?) from the looks of the tread :s22:

Just don't make a decision you will regret too much and you'll be fine :s13:
Your money anyway!

Yea U2312 is 23" 16:9, but U2412 is 24" 16:10.

For the review, can skip all the things you don't understand and just look at the color/input lag chart.
Quite easy to see, lower input lag = better. Then it show you comparison and what is considered high-end gaming grade input lag and the range that it falls into. Can read performance summary and conclusion as well.

Hey guys hope to get some opinion on what you think of my setup for my 2.3k budget.
Since u not gonna OC, drop the fanciful RAM and get the Kingston PC3-1600 DDR3 8GB at $77 instead. That will save u $20.

AsRock B75 Pro3 M + Intel i5-3470 combo is only $355 (PCThemes). Same result as your MSI CPU+MB combo, but at a lower price.

Drop the Seasonic G-Series PSU. Since u not gonna SLI/Crossfire, the Seasonic S12II 520W is more than enough for ur Powercolor 7950. $89 vs $149...

Instead of getting the Corsair K70, I recommend getting the Ducky Shine keyboards instead. Even Filco or Rosewill keyboards can do better than Corsair ones. Coz if I didnt remember wrongly some (if not, all) of Corsair's mechanical keyboards are membrane-mechanical mix. Means that Corsair keyboards are not actually fully mechanical in functionality. Or a CM Storm Keyboard can do the job well enough.

Use the amount saved and squeezed out of the main rig to reward yourself with a 27" 1080p monitor for gaming instead. Top up a bit more to buy the 27" 1080p AOC i2757fh monitor at $399 (Media Mart) instead of the lowly Asus 23" monitor.

I'm gonna go with the U2312HM. 0.6ms input lag compared to U2412M's input lag of 9.4

I might be able to get the deathadder 2013 at a cheaper price and add in a megasoma 2 mouse mat at the same time for below 90 bucks, hopefully. Shall stick with this setup. Just waiting for gtx 760 to see if I'm got switch gpu. Thanks for all the help guys! :D
