Saying 12 months contract is not a real problem is ******** because no matter what you have to pay it either fully or with a penalty before moving to better deals

not everyone look at price alone for "better" deal....

some ppl have their own reasons to stick with certain telcos... and since they are going to stick with the same telco... getting X month contract is no difference from having NO contract... afterall the same telco will make sure the plans with contract will be "better" than the other plans without contract...

I'd say the telcos continue to screw the older folks with super expensive plans. take my father for example, Singtel sold him a $40+ plan for 4GB. what the....!!!....

Singtel has always been the "premium" brand in terms of mobile plans here in Singapore. Treat them like... Apple branded iPhones, everything costs more.

But no doubt their network coverage is the best in Singapore. Look at their Combo plans and you'll know. Even their contract free SIM only plan, gives the least for the $20 price (3GB Only, no talk time, no SMS, no Caller ID, nothing else), but people still stick to them due to brand loyalty, and "reliability" and longest history in Singapore. Not to mention Singtel loves tying people down to contracts. Their "add-ons" like Data X2, X3 are also bound by a separate contract. If you terminate your contract bound line, you have to pay TWO penalties, one for your line, one for your Data X2, X3 addons.

That being said, I know a handful people who insist on choosing Singtel when they sign up for a mobile line. When they want to re-contract or sign up for a new mobile line, it will always be Singtel. They know of M1 and StarHub, but will never choose them for telephone communications. This is one of the reason why I feel Singtel can afford to not bow to competition so quickly and take their time to adjust their product offerings based on market conditions.

called 1609 but the CSO said because my current combo 2 doesn't have caller ID, he has to register it to the sim only plan and pay a one time $10.70 fee to get the free 12 month caller id, is this true?

You are late to the party. Suck thumb lor. Last month whole month offer free CallerID. This month back to normal.

This is not new. In November they already offered the 12mos unlimited data no contract by entering the code. This time it's for the CIS code. Should be the same slow speed which becomes even slower after 40gb. CIS will get extra freebies w entertainer pack

the response I got from CS is the first 40gb will we at 4G speed. Afterwards it will be 0.75mbps only

I still got keep the chat log with the cso.. I asked some more confirm 100gb per year or per month at 4G speed.. She confirmed twice is 100gb per month.. Anyway no contract if not good just port to others.

Yes it's 4g but cl network is coming from m1 so it should be slow

I doubt you could use up to 100gb, maybe not over 40gb since their Network is not as great. Unless you are under the one of the cell. No doubt it's worth the money but 11.11 promos is still the best at $7.
