It does bring one main benefit of being qualified as a postpaid plan -- you will be able to port out to other SIM only plan if find better offer in the future.

For prepaid, you have to convert to a post paid plan of the same Telco first before porting out.

I guess you are right about this. Esp for those with prepaid, they need to jump to a postpaid first. For me, postpaid all the way so no issue. :o

Doesn't matter to me if Gomo is prepaid, postpaid, gotpaid, neverpaid, nopaid, yespaid. End of the day it's still a sim-only card for me. I pay S$20, i get 20GB, 200mins, 200sms, free caller ID, that's all i care.

Knowing whether it's a prepaid or postpaid doesn't bring anything to the table for me.
Agree. Don't care prepaid or post paid. At the end, everything need to pay. Unless we are talking about TPG trial now. Noneedpaid

Problem here is by misleading other less savvy readers GOMO being a prepaid plan, these potential victims may thought they cannot jump to other telcos without up converting to Singtel postpaid. Therefore, even Singtel rep has to come here come clean with their offering.

That's why Singtel already consider GOMO as postpaid. So the final verdict is GOMO is a postpaid plan NOT a prepaid plan.

Maybe just because gomo connects to hicard apn. Which he concludes it is a prepaid. That is really a bad judgement based on apn it connects to.

actually if u ask me... they should get rid of the mindset of prepaid/postpaid in sgp all together... all these are just different pricing models.... if one is still fixated on prepaid/postpaid it'll prevent ppl to come out with creative price plans....

for eg... they can always come out with a prepaid/postpaid hybrid plan where you pay a regular/monthly fee (like postpaid) to top up minutes/data/sms in your account... but like prepaid plans these minutes/data/sms you bought won't expire and they will simply accumulate (just like prepaid) up... and if you still need more you can always just top up $$$ to add more minutes/data/sms (just like prepaid)...

From the local horse's mouth (IMDA).

I won't be surprised if Singtel CSO talked rubbish. It is not unexpected from a CSO to give rubbish clarification. We do encounter this once in awhile.

But key point is GOMO can port out.

2.1.5 Postpaid Mobile Service
Postpaid Mobile Service refers to a cellular mobile telecommunication service
provided by an Operator in Singapore, which involves the collection of payments
from subscribers according to their use of mobile services at the end of each
billing cycle.

2.1.6 Prepaid Mobile Service
Prepaid Mobile Service refers to a cellular mobile telecommunication service
provided by an Operator in Singapore, which involves the collection of advance
payments from subscribers prior to, upon or after the supply of a SIM card or
other access device/code, and before their use of the subscribed mobile service.

Anyone experience giga! no data after porting over complete in the morning? Set the apn already to giga but still didn’t work. Does it require time for “data” porting?

Anyway....

Postpaid can only port over to Postpaid.
Prepaid can only port over to Prepaid.

Prepaid can convert under SAME TELCO to Postpaid.
Postpaid can NEVER covert to Prepaid.

This is something to note.

--------
Anyway locally in Singapore, prepaid options comes in 2 forms.
1. Top up to main wallet, with a validity of the SIM and balance. You can use the balance to activate data or packages available....

2. Direct package topup. Something like buy a $28 card to get $128 package with call time, sms, data with a validity. Which can be Stackable.

Although GOMO is collecting subscription before the 30 days start, it is a recurring subscription. Auto renew and debit from your payment card. You "cannot" stop this.

Prepaid, some do have this auto renewal thing, but is based on your Main Wallet Balance. Which is prepaid before you select any plans. Then get deducted.

You see the difference now? One is put money into a Main Wallet, then choose at a later date.
One is paid the package, then start using. (GOMO)

Still no data by now?

Try setting apn as giga. If doesn't work, set apn as shwap (which is actually for Starhub Postpaid).

Both apn work for me ...
