Hi there.

I am completely new to CPU parts and they look more like foreign language to me even after thorough research. However, I have shortlisted a few samples from the internet. Hope to get some advice on which is the best for gaming (e.g. dota 2 at ultra high settings 1080p or cs go at ultra high settings 1080p) with the stated budget. Thanks!

First option:
AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor
Gigabyte - GA-AB350-Gaming ATX AM4 Motherboard
Team - Dark 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
ADATA - Ultimate SU800 512GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Windforce OC Video Card
Cooler Master - MasterBox 5 (White) ATX Mid Tower Case
SeaSonic - G 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
Total: 1068 USD

Second option:
GTX 1080 $500
i7 7700K $330
Cryorig H5 $47
ASUS Z270-A $160
8GB DDR4 $56
2TB $55
525 GB $150
EVGA G3 850 $120
HAF X $165
Total: 1583 USD

Third option:
- AMD Ryzen R5-1600 + MSI B350M Mortar ($478)
- TP-Link Archer T6E AC1300 PCI-E Wi-Fi adapter ($54.50 @ Lazada)
- CRUCIAL DDR4 2133MHZ CL16 8GB ($85) (Remain same due to budget constraints)
- PNY 128GB SATA3 SSD ($89)
- Western Digital 1TB Blue 7200RPM ($72)
- Palit GTX 1060 3GB Jetstream ($310) (Down to 3GB due to budget constraints)
- Windows 10 Home Edition ($158)
- FSP HEXA 450W 80+ ($59)
- Tecware F3 ($49) (GreenBandit's suggestion)
- *Purchased* SonicGear Speaker Morro 2 (2.1 speakers) Red ($29.90)
- *Purchased* Dell SE2417HG ($133)
TOTAL: $1517.40

If it's pure gaming, get the 7700k with a 1070.

Get a Samsung 960 Evo m2 instead of slow ADATA

If I read you correctly, you'll be using 2 monitors, right? And if you're gaming on just one monitor, 1070 should do the trick, otherwise get 1080. Actually, 1080ti for best performance if within your budget lah.

Alternatively, can wait for Vega or Volta but not sure when those will come.

1070 = GTX 1070
1080TI = GTX 1080TI
VEGA = AMD new lineup of high end GPU that is coming end of July that tout to have GTX 1080 performance.
Volta = NVIDIA new line up of GPU that is coming this year. Most likely to be improved Pascal (current line up of NVIDIA GPU)
SLI = Scalable Link Interface. NVIDIA's multi graphic card tech by combining the performance from 2 same GPU model to produce better graphic performance with the help of a link bridge. May be as cool as it sound, it's not that effective and not a whole lot of games are optimized for it.

Take option 2. But replace the CPU/Motherboard/Ram from option 1.

thanks for the explanation. really appreciate that.

Any way you can mix first and second options?

If cannot, then go with 2nd option for pure gaming. But add another 8gb ram pls.

Take option 2. But replace the CPU/Motherboard/Ram from option 1.

so the final product will be

Mix 1 & 2:
AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor
Gigabyte - GA-AB350-Gaming ATX AM4 Motherboard
Team - Dark 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory

Cryorig H5 $47
ASUS Z270-A $160
2TB $55
525 GB $150
EVGA G3 850 $120
HAF X $165

is this right?

Remove the Asus Z270-A and you're good to go. That's the motherboard for Intel lol

And put back the gtx 1080 also haha

Do post an update showcasing your new build when it's done!

Also regarding the hardware, you might want to choose the brands of your hardware according to your aesthetics and color preferences! Prices may differ though.
