Computer automatically restarting

Hi, am just asking this for my friend.
Apparently his Dell rig (3yo) has been automatically restarting, but once it restarts his motherboard will beep constantly at about 2-3 second intervals. Also there will be an orange light on his case, not sure if that's normal or not.

try running linux. see if same **** happens

Beside overheating, it could also be due to a faulty PSU or RAM.
